Departure Checklist

Before you leave, please make sure the following has been completed:

1. Household Waste

• Has all household waste been sorted according to the waste separation instructions?
• Please take all glass bottles and jars to the public glass recycling point yourself. Do not place glass in any of the waste containers.
• Large cardboard boxes must be flattened and stacked in the castle utility room, or outside next to the stairs in dry weather. We will dispose of the cardboard for you.
• If you have used the blue SHANKS container, you do not need to separate your waste (except for glass and large cardboard). The charge for using the SHANKS container is €75.00 per half-filled container.
• If you have moved any waste containers next to the castle during your stay, please return them to the entrance gate before departure.
• As the municipality of Bertrix does not empty the grey municipal container if the waste has not been sorted correctly, we will inspect your waste after your departure and, if necessary, transfer it to the blue SHANKS container. Any associated costs will be charged accordingly.

1. Kitchen

• Please return all kitchen items to their original place, grouped by type.
• Ensure that all dishes, glasses, cutlery, cookware and kitchen utensils have been washed thoroughly.
• Please check that glasses, cutlery, crockery and pans are completely clean and, if necessary, wash them again using clean water.

1. Furniture & Bedrooms

• Please return all furniture and other items to their original location.
• Ensure that every bed has a duvet and pillow.
• If you have moved any beds or mattresses during your stay, please return them to their original position.
• Please remove your own bed linen before departure. Leave the mattress protectors (mattress covers) on the mattresses.

1. Wood-Burning Stoves & BBQs

• Please empty and clean all wood-burning stoves and barbecues before departure.

1. Ovens

• Please clean the ovens thoroughly, including the oven racks and the bottom of the ovens.

1. General Cleaning

• Please leave the castle in a broom-clean condition.
• Empty all rubbish bins and waste baskets and dispose of the rubbish in the appropriate waste containers.

1. Decoration

• Please leave all decorative items in the rooms where they were when you arrived.

1. Furniture & Bedding

• Indoor furniture must not be used outdoors.
• Duvets, pillows and bedspreads are for use inside the bedrooms only and may not be taken outside.

1. Cigarette Butts

• Please remove any cigarette butts from the gravel around the property.

Additional Information

The cleaning fee you have paid is a contribution towards the cleaning costs. It does not cover the full cost of cleaning the castle and the sauna/jacuzzi area.

Any additional cleaning work required will therefore be charged separately.

Please note that the following are not included in the final cleaning service:

• Washing dishes
• Cleaning the wood-burning stoves
• Cleaning the BBQs
• Cleaning the ovens

If we need to rewash dishes or clean the BBQs, wood-burning stoves or ovens after your departure, additional charges will apply.
